Meet Me!

About Me:

Hello, my name is George Bonilla. I am currently an undergraduate student at SUNY Old Westbury. I am studying Computer Information Science. I come from a Spanish-speaking home I am fluent in spanish and fluent in english. Currently, I am interested in working in web development or IT services. Data Science, machine learning, are other topics that I am also interested in. I interned at Brookhaven National Lab at National Synchrotron Light Source II. As of now I am finishing my last semester and looking to enter the workforce and expand my skills.

During the summer of 2025 I interned at Brookhaven National Lab at National Synchrotron Light Source II. Here I worked on the Phoebus Control System. This was a software engineering project. They use process variables at their facility to track and manage IOCs(input and output controllers). With a team of interns we were tasked to allow connection to process variables over Websockets for real time communication. Throughout my internship I learned the software development timeline and how real world project development goes. In this project I used Java and git.
